The field of genetics that started with Mendel's idea of gene and allele has propagated through the advent of molecular biology. And currently, the field has even moved further through the understanding of genome architecture and epigenetic regulation that drives biological processes. Chromatin landscape and non-coding RNAs can play important role in development and sex-chromosome dosage compensation, diseases including neurodegenerative disorders as well as cancer. Overall, 3D genome organization encompasses genome organization in 3D nucleus space, DNA topological aspects, chromosome territories etc. 3D genome organization has been attributed to allele-specific mRNA expression patterns like genomic imprinting and random monoallelic gene expression which regulate development and disease phenotypes. Thus, understanding overall spatiotemporal regulation of chromatin landscape and RNA biology is critical to gain insights to the overall adaptive fitness of any organism. It is not a single gene or just a set of genes that can drive biological processes in cellular and organismal level, but the overall genome architecture and transcriptome is important. This two-day conference will facilitate an exchange on the understandings in the field so far. Also, highlights might come up regarding how can the field proceed in future to better understand chromatin biology and its implications.
By plane
IISc campus is about 40kms from the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengluru. The Institute is known as “Tata Institute” to the locals and is just past Yeshwantpura circle (CV Raman Road).
There are dedicated prepaid taxi stands just outside of the airport or one can book convenient Ola/Uber rides for a maximum fare of INR 800.
Well operated bus services can also be used from the airport, KIA-10 runs from the airport to Yeshwantpura every 15 minutes. The fixed fare is INR 245 per person. It is a 10 minutes walk from Yeshwantpura bus stop to the D-Gate of IISc campus.

By train
Train tickets can be booked for either of the three stations: Yeswantpur (YPR), KSR Bengaluru or SMVT Bengaluru. The city railway station, Yeswantpur (YPR) is the closest and only 2kms from IISc campus. One need to exit through Platform-6 of Yeswantpur station and take a auto (hired/Ola Auto/Uber Auto) ride to D-Gate of IISc Campus which would cost around INR 80.
After entering through the D-Gate of IISc campus, walk straight for 2mins, Division of Biological Sciences can be spotted. The Biological Science Auditorium is located at the Ground Floor. Sit back, relax and enjoy the conference!
